Based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Lowes Foods opened their first location in the Upstate of South Carolina in late September. I finally visited a couple of weeks ago and boy, was I amazed. Visiting a Lowes Foods is not a normal trip to the grocery store, be prepared to spend most of the afternoon pursuing isles and isles of typical grocery store chain fair, but the additional amenities are what makes this supermarket stand out from the rest. Extra Amenities at Lowes Foods I usually only cook for two people and my husband hates leftovers, which proves to be difficult when buying produce. Many produce options at Lowes Foods…

Fish Tacos: 100 Day Real Food Challenge
Challenge is an UNDERSTATEMENT. When your household hates vegetables and you are a foodie, this 100 days of real food is nearly impossible. Today’s recipe is in Lisa Leak’s new cookbook, 100 Days of Real Food: Fast & Fabulous: The Easy and Delicious Way to Cut Out Processed Food. Ever since I accepted a desk job, almost 15 years ago, over my more physical job, where I was constantly walking, I have gained 50 lbs. That is 50 lbs from my wedding weight. I have used every excuse for the…

Comfort and Style at The Green Room
The Green Room Restaurant and Bar was host to my first Greenville Blog Society Meet Up. It was great meeting fellow bloggers, who upon receiving their first course for the night’s dinner, pulled out their phones to take pictures. I always feel awkward doing this when I dine with my husband. Being a blogger, I am the stereotypical introvert. Getting out of my routine work environment (home) and talking to complete strangers about my blog was a huge step for me. I did enjoy the fellowship and conversing with Johnathan Anderson – author of Yeah That Greenville Guide, Tiffany Anderson and Tiffany Paraskevas, blogger at Macarons and Coffee Ambience of…
