    Harris Teeter Moves Into Greenville

    July 18, 2018

Within the past year, magazines like Vogue, Southern Living and Food Network have declared Greenville, South Carolina a culinary destination.  Creative chefs are flocking to the Appalachian Foothills with innovative offerings besides the stereotypical meat and three vegetable traditions of southern cuisine. However, I believe there is another aspect to Greenville’s foodie scene which is just now beginning to blossom – the supermarket shopping experience – and Harris Teeter is the latest addition to the growing trend. What is the supermarket shopping experience? I have never been one to enjoy shopping.  I might buy new clothes once a year – if that?  However, I relish the chance to go “grocery shopping.” Having…

Sprouts Brings Fresh Food to Greenville

    June 20, 2018

Finally visited my first Sprouts Farmer’s Market last week at their Greenville Grand Opening and it did not disappoint! Kailia, with Sprouts gave me and four other enthusiastic bloggers a grand tour. Why Shop at Sprouts Farmers Market? During our tour, Kalia explained how Sprouts targets the “transitional shopper.” I am a transitional shopper – moving from traditional processed foods to more raw, healthy real food. For foodies like me who hunger for a shopping experience, Sprouts delivers fresh produce (many organic choices), meat and seafood, bulk grains, vitamins and supplements, a deli with freshly prepared entrees and sides, dairy, bakery, natural body care items and more. Perusing the hundreds…

Five Foodie Reasons to Visit Chattooga Belle Farms

    May 30, 2018

I am always in search of places, which include some type of food theme.  After some friends – thanks Dave and Andrea – visited Chattooga Belle Farm, they told me it was a MUST visit for me. Returning from a trip to see my dad, my husband and I decided to take a small detour (only about 15 minutes) and stop by and see why Chattooga Belle Farm is a foodie destination. Here I have narrowed my list down to FIVE reasons every foodie would enjoy a trip to this scenic place in the Blue Ridge Mountains. 5. Beautiful Chattooga Belle Farm Vineyard Building my final home in the Appalachian…

Discovering Local Food at Ingles Markets

    March 16, 2018

The regional chain of Ingles Markets has a special event called, Taste of Local, based in Western North Carolina and upstate South Carolina featuring local food producers. One of my missions with this blog is to encourage foodies to support their local food producers, whether it be through CSA”s (Community Supported Agriculture) or buying produce at the local farmers’ markets. Since moving to the Appalachian Foothills area, I have never before witnessed such support for local farmers and food products. Local food producers are able to set up a table and display their products, along with free samples for Ingles’ shoppers. Some products may be available in your own local…

    February 23, 2018

As a food blogger, you might imagine that FOOD and finding the “good” places to eat, is always at the top of my agenda – especially when I travel. I want to eat where the locals eat.  But it can be intimidating, just walking up to a stranger, in a strange town and asking, “where is a good Tex-Mex restaurant around here?” And yea, I know…there are several apps which can help…but they are not always reliable (I can speak first hand on that). Today…we have a solution! Below, you will find my top 5 food (or drink) must visit spots for Greenville, South Carolina.  In collaboration with fellow foodies…
