Portion control is personally, my most frustrating issue with weight loss. Usually, when I taste something really good, I eat as I will never have the opportunity to eat it again. Of course, that is the wrong mentality. Eating at home, I can always repeat a delicious meal or eat leftovers. However, what about when you are putting the food on the plate? Raw Food Means a Better Mood
The Department of Food Science Research at the University of Otago in New Zealand has linked our consumption of raw fruits and vegetables to our mental health. A total of 281 young adults completed an internet-based daily food diary for 21 consecutive days. Researchers concluded participates consuming a higher intake of raw produce (5 times per day) had fewer symptoms of mental illness or depression, and improved levels of well being or satisfaction with life. Reducing Sugar Lowers Risk of Alzheimer’s
A recent research study suggests a correlation between sugar consumption and deterioration of the brain, as well as cognitive skills. In this study of the aging process, researches concluded participants with diabetes or borderline diabetes are more susceptible to dementia and Alzheimers.
