    January 30, 2020

Yes, it is true  – certain kinds of chocolate actually have health benefits. Cocoa beans, like all seeds, are rich in nutrients that support the plant during development. Sabor Latin Street Grill Opens in Greenville

    January 23, 2020

Sabor Latin Street Grill, a Charlotte-based restaurant, opened in Greenville this week. I used to wince when friends suggested going to any type of ethnic restaurant, – “if it ain’t American food, JoAnn won’t eat it,” they would say. However, I have learned to appreciate the culinary cultural differences, throughout the world. Inspired by traditional Latin-America street food, Sabor offers delicious, fresh food in a fast-paced environment, for those who want to experience an eclectic cuisine without a passport. Sabor’s Operation Patrons enter a vibrant, up-tempo restaurant and form a cue line, to place their order. Most menu items are á-la-carte, making it very easy to maintain portion control. A…

    Romaine Lettuce Safety Solutions

    December 19, 2019

Another romaine lettuce issue, this time from Salinas, California...seems like there is one every week? Unfortunately, regarding the most recent E-coli outbreak, the CDC says washing the lettuce will NOT prevent you from getting sick??? I have a solution…GROW YOUR OWN. Lettuce can be grown in containers, shallow beds, or a traditional, in the ground garden. I have been growing mine with seeds I obtained from my local libraries’ seed exchange. Some have grown beautifully…some have not. If you want to grow your own or continue to purchase from your local supermarket, here are a few things you should know. What is Romaine Lettuce?
